For the past 30 years, Jim Cutler has been strengthening organizational and leadership performance as a talent executive, a consultant, a practice leader, and an executive coach. Using his deep human insight and empathy combined with his knowledge of strategy and organizational dynamics, Jim has helped leaders at many organizations – large and small – overcome performance roadblocks and achieve their most important strategic goals.
Jim is currently an organizational consultant and executive coach at Cutler Partners, LLC. He is working with leaders in organizations from start-ups to large organizations in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Until recently, Jim served as Chief Talent Officer at Cimpress, a fast growing global internet-based small business marketing company. As member of the Global Executive Team, he oversaw organization development, executive talent management, and corporate communications world-wide. Jim’s personal emphasis is in the development of executives, team dynamics, and organizational design and development. ​ Previously Jim was the founder of the Monitor Group’s Organization and Leadership practice. As a consultant he has led organization design, leadership development, and change initiatives across a wide range of firms.
His work has spanned many sectors, including social entrepreneurship. Prior to that, Jim was the Chief Organization Design Officer at Monitor, a role which included the comprehensive overhaul of the firm’s human resource systems. While at Monitor, he also worked closely with New Profit Inc., as an advisor to them, and a coach for social entrepreneurs in their portfolio. Before joining Monitor Group, Jim served as Senior Director of Human Resources and Director of Apple University (Apple’s worldwide training and organizational development group). Jim previously worked in the Human Resources area at GE, and is a graduate of GE’s Human Resources Management Program.
​ Jim holds degrees in psychology and education, including a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado College, a Master’s degree from the University of Colorado, and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
